Case Study: Bausch+Ströbel achieves more stable, proactive production planning with INFORM’s FELIOS

A INFORM GmbH Case Study

Preview of the Bausch+Ströbel Case Study

Bausch+Ströbel cuts rush orders by 70% with INFORM

Bausch+Ströbel, a world market leader for pharmaceutical filling and packaging machines, faced a major challenge in planning its highly complex, customized plants. Manual planning combined with basic ERP scheduling was overwhelming, leading to a reactive "fire department" approach with about 2,000 daily rush orders and limited visibility. To address this, they turned to vendor INFORM GmbH and its Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) system, FELIOS.

INFORM implemented FELIOS as an add-on to Bausch+Ströbel's ERP system to automate and optimize production sequencing. The solution enabled foresighted planning weeks in advance, tracking up to 40,000 parts simultaneously with 95% automation. This allowed the company to proactively identify and resolve delays. The results were significant: possible production orders doubled, and rush orders were reduced by 70%, leading to more stable, sustainable planning and improved on-time delivery.
