A Infor Case Study
Dunedin City Council, the local government for New Zealand’s university city of about 129,000 people, faced a complex ICT landscape of 12 specialised business units using over 1,600 applications while rolling out a ten‑year plan to renew infrastructure and improve services after recent floods. The council needed to consolidate systems, enable integrated decision‑making, deliver more online services and self‑service analytics, and free technical staff from time‑consuming reporting work.
The council implemented Infor Pathway, Infor Public Sector, EAM, BIRST and Infor ION to create a secure single source of truth, add mobile field functionality and integrate GIS for public access. The transformation yielded 99% data accuracy, eliminated most reporting burdens (freeing development resources previously spent on analytics), accelerated insight sharing across units, improved budgeting and infrastructure planning, and set the stage for moving core platforms to the cloud.
