Technip ships in Infor EAM to reduce costs and vessel downtime

Technip, a global leader in oil and gas engineering, operates a fleet of 17 vessels that build and maintain subsea infrastructure in extreme deep-water conditions. Facing fragmented data, unreliable satellite communication and free-text requisitions that prevented accurate trend analysis, Technip needed a single asset management system to improve maintenance planning, reduce vessel downtime, cut costs and streamline inventory and purchasing.

After a two-year review Technip selected Infor EAM for its robust communications, local vessel databases and process automation. Infor EAM automates requisitions, planned maintenance, inventory, cataloguing and purchasing, improving visibility across vessels and enabling smarter procurement decisions; initial rollout began in 2010, training via EPAK smoothed adoption, rollout continues fleet-wide, and Technip expects payback within five years alongside measurable reductions in downtime and costs.
