Case Study: Singapore Petroleum achieves streamlined budgeting and faster financial reporting with Infor BI (Infor)

A Infor Case Study

Preview of the Singapore Petroleum Case Study

Singapore Petroleum improves budgeting with Infor BI

Singapore Petroleum Company (SPC), a leading Singapore-based oil and gas firm, faced mounting budgeting and reporting challenges as it expanded rapidly in 2004. Growth in refining capacity and service stations increased data volume and systems, while a manual, Excel-based budgeting process could not keep up with the need for consolidation, collaboration, and access to JD Edwards financial data.

SPC implemented Infor BI (formerly MIS), which went live within a month and was fully adopted after a second implementation phase. The solution centralized budgets, let business owners enter data directly, automated consolidation and allocations, and imported actuals from JD Edwards, while keeping an Excel-friendly interface and role-based access. As a result, SPC completed its budget on time despite a delayed start, reduced manual effort and training needs, improved variance analysis, and expanded the system to support fortnightly reporting, costing and stock revaluation.
