Physik Instrumente unifies processes across global operations with Infor

Physik Instrumente (PI) is a Germany-based market leader in precision positioning systems with more than 500 employees, three German facilities and eight international branches serving complex sectors like semiconductors, medical technology and aerospace. Facing a heavily customized AS/400 legacy landscape, fragmented data and disconnected processes across sites, PI needed a modern, single-instance IT platform to support multinational operations, improve management reporting and enable global growth.

PI implemented Infor LN with Infor CRM and Infor PLM to consolidate systems, standardize processes and adopt a Shared Services model. The single-instance ERP delivered improved global inventory visibility (Global ATP), full lot tracking and serialized inventory, faster planning and fulfillment, and one-click access to warranty and service history—reducing lead times, lowering inventory and costs, increasing asset utilization and significantly improving customer service and reporting timeliness.
