Case Study: Moba achieves lean manufacturing and dramatic warehouse efficiency gains with Infor LN

A Infor Case Study

Preview of the Moba Case Study

Moba grows with lean manufacturing and Infor LN

Moba, the world’s largest manufacturer of egg grading, packing and processing equipment with factories in the Netherlands, the US and China, faced a major operational challenge: an over‑complicated ERP and a bottlenecked warehouse that generated excessive paperwork, inconsistent data, long routings (up to nine steps and seven weeks), high WIP and disorganized stock. The company needed a radical change to simplify flows, cut lead times and support growth.

Moba adopted a lean strategy supported by Infor LN, reorganizing 80% of repetitive processes (introducing a two‑bin system) while investing in technology for the 20% of unique, customer‑specific work (laser cutting, modern production techniques) and automating the warehouse. Results included a reduction in warehouse space from 4,000 to 1,700 m², production cycle times cut to about 10 minutes, warehouse staffing trimmed from 20 to 12 while output doubled, stock down 30–35%, paper copies reduced from 91 to 7, fewer errors and lower costs, and improved service capabilities including preventive maintenance contracts.
