A Infor Case Study
Hackensack University Medical Center, a 775‑bed nonprofit teaching and research hospital in New Jersey, faced the challenge of fulfilling its pledge to the White House Precision Medicine Initiative by giving patients and researchers secure, standardized access to clinical data. The organization needed to enable interoperability across disparate systems, adopt the HL7 FHIR standard, reduce manual data entry and phone-driven scheduling, and empower patients with mobile access to their health information.
HackensackUMC implemented the cloud‑based Infor Cloverleaf Integration Suite to create a FHIR service layer and connect systems to its Epic EHR, deployed in three weeks. The solution accelerated appointment scheduling from 5–10 minutes to about 1 minute via mobile (24/7 access), eliminated thousands of phone calls, saved over 65,000 hours of manual data entry, increased patient throughput and face time with clinicians, and laid the technical foundation for advancing precision medicine through better data sharing.
