A Infor Case Study
Ferrari, the Maranello‑based maker of luxury performance sports cars and engines, faced the need to re‑engineer supply chain and manufacturing processes to support new V6/V8 engine launches and global sales operations. The company wanted to consolidate a fragmented ICT landscape, eliminate production downtime from material shortages, and replace 59 legacy systems while improving planning and operational efficiency.
Ferrari implemented Infor LN, Infor ION, Warehouse Mobility and S&OP in phased waves, creating a unified architecture and integrating with a third‑party logistics (3PL) partner. The project consolidated 59 legacy systems, outsourced all material handling (reducing internal inventory to zero and eliminating shortage risk), cut MRP runtime by four hours to under two, increased interface messaging from 50K to 160K daily peaks, and improved production tracking and planning — reducing lost production hours and enabling a move toward a single global ledger.
