A Infor Case Study
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is a large metropolitan council in South Australia serving more than 123,000 residents and managing 100,000+ assets valued at AU$1.6B, including roads, footpaths, parks, buildings and fleet. Faced with disparate data in spreadsheets, GIS and a legacy asset system, the council lacked a single source of truth to optimise maintenance, balance capital and operating costs, and make informed investment decisions.
To address this, the city standardised on Infor Public Sector beginning in 2005–06, building a central asset register, a 20-year pavement model, and integrations with GIS and customer service systems while rolling out field iPads for automated data capture. The program delivered measurable benefits—over 100,000 assets tracked, AU$26,000 saved annually on road inspections, a 50% reduction in condition-assessment time, 100,000 defects identified and prioritised, and ongoing improvements in efficiency, decision-making and asset lifecycle planning.
