City of Des Moines Gains Big Savings with Infor EAM Asset Sustainability

The City of Des Moines, which operates the regional wastewater reclamation authority, needed to more efficiently maintain equipment, facilities, and assets while staying within budget. Key challenges included adding energy and condition monitoring, integrating EAM with SCADA systems, and analyzing energy usage trends to identify savings opportunities.

They implemented Infor EAM Asset Sustainability, configuring it to follow maintenance best practices and enabling condition monitoring and system integration. Results included a rise in productive (wrench) time from 20% to 75% (nearly quadrupling productivity), $200,000 in annual energy savings in the first phase, a 25% improvement in overall energy efficiency and maintenance productivity, rapid user adoption, and recognition with the Governor of Iowa’s Environmental Excellence Award.
