A Infor Case Study
Belden Brick, a long-standing U.S. manufacturer producing roughly 225 million bricks annually, needed to modernize and consolidate systems after acquiring Redland Brick to support growth, improve data visibility, and simplify complex inventory and item coding across sites. The company faced fragmented master data, millions of inventory units, and slow, multi-screen processes that made it hard for production managers and salespeople to get timely, usable information.
Belden implemented Infor LN on Windows/SQL and used Infor’s migration toolkit to standardize master data—deactivating about 9,000 item codes and bringing 9,000 into the new system—while successfully migrating orders, the general ledger, and approximately 70 million inventory units. The result was faster user ramp-up, powerful filtering and drill-down capabilities that improved efficiency for production, sales, and dealers (about 750 users on the extranet), and a stronger foundation for reducing scrap, cutting costs, and rolling out additional planning, manufacturing, and service functionality.
