A Infor Case Study
AWE, the UK defence group that designs, manufactures and maintains Trident warheads with some 4,500 staff and over 2,000 contractors, needed to optimise plant asset performance and ensure safety and compliance across more than 300,000 assets. The organisation’s existing CMMS lacked the visibility and scheduling capability required to support its complex equipment, resource structures and lifecycle‑management goals, including the coordination of 600 engineers and tighter risk control for high‑hazard plant.
AWE upgraded to Infor EAM (with modules for mobile, barcoding, inventory, CAD integration and ClickSoftware scheduling) and introduced Infor ION and Workspace to integrate data and deliver contextual BI. The deployment delivered 360° asset visibility, alert‑based early warnings, improved maintenance planning and optimised engineer routing, producing stronger risk control, better data quality, reduced carbon footprint and greater confidence in operational safety and compliance.
