3D Medical Manufacturing, a Florida-based contract manufacturer founded in 1994 by Jim and Joe Davis, produces high-precision medical device components, implants, instruments and assemblies. The company faced manual, labor-intensive traceability, a large volume of customer orders with exacting contract requirements, and limited visibility into materials, scheduling and quality across its operations.

With help from Infor VISUAL South, 3D Medical implemented the Infor VISUAL ERP to automate traceability and enable real-time cost accounting and concurrent scheduling. The solution captured costs as changes occur, stabilized inventory control, improved company-wide and acquisition-site visibility, and supported growth and profitability by improving materials use, on-time delivery and engineering and supply-chain tracking.
