U.S. Department of Defense - Customer Case Study

An IT organization within the U.S. Department of Defense that supports mission‑critical servers needed to speed deployments in an environment where bringing new hardware into the datacenter is difficult. The team faced fragmented DNS/IP management and manual, error‑prone processes and required unified DNS/IPAM, single sign‑on, role‑based access, and a foundation for an elastic private cloud to regain visibility and efficiency.

The team implemented Infoblox DDI with six physical 1410 appliances and nine virtual 1410s, integrating with Microsoft Active Directory and VMware vCloud Automation Center/vCenter Orchestrator to automate provisioning and teardown via APIs. The result was a single source of IPAM for troubleshooting and new deployments, real‑time DNS updates, faster upgrades, stronger security and compliance (including safe use of DHCP), and significant productivity gains—transforming previously manual tasks into seconds‑long automated workflows.
