University of Pennsylvania - Customer Case Study

University of Pennsylvania’s Facilities and Real Estate Services (FRES) was relying on Windows servers with statically assigned IPs to deliver DNS and DHCP, a setup that proved fragile and hard to scale as more systems required dynamic addresses. Frequent outages, limited high-availability and manual IP address tracking in spreadsheets threatened uptime for critical campus systems and made administration cumbersome.

FRES deployed a redundant Infoblox-550 high-availability cluster to provide DNS, DHCP and IPAM with centralized management, simplified upgrades, built‑in security and one‑button disaster recovery. The appliances eliminated manual IP tracking, maintained service during upgrades, reduced administrative overhead and delivered greater reliability and visibility across the network.
