University of North Texas - Customer Case Study

The University of North Texas, a large public university in Denton serving over 36,000 students, faced rapid network growth and consolidation across the UNT system that outpaced its homegrown DNS/DHCP solution. That legacy system could not reliably synchronize with Microsoft Active Directory or support the university’s expanding services, so UNT needed a more manageable, API-capable solution that delivered reliability and scalability.

UNT evaluated vendors and chose the Infoblox Grid, deploying 21 Infoblox-1550 appliances to provide secure, centrally managed DNS, DHCP and NTP services. The new platform delivered high availability, automated IP address management, reduced risk of human error, lower operating costs and easier administration — allowing staff to focus on strategic projects while ensuring continuous network uptime.
