A Infoblox Case Study
Texas A&M University, one of the largest U.S. campuses with a centralized CIS Network Group responsible for the backbone and LANs in over 340 buildings, struggled with a patchwork of monitoring tools. Managing and scripting across multiple systems was time-consuming, hard to maintain as the backbone evolved, and kept the team in reactive mode rather than focusing on higher-value work.
Texas A&M implemented NetMRI, a proactive network management platform with an expert rules engine and policy management, to manage its multi-vendor infrastructure as a single system. NetMRI replaced most monitoring tools, cut management and maintenance time, enabled rapid, consistent multi-device configuration changes, preserved and compared configurations for rollback, and shifted the network team from reactive firefighting to proactive operations.
