A Infoblox Case Study
Sussex Health Informatics Service (HIS) undertook a major IT consolidation to centralize services for more than 270 NHS sites via a Gigabit Community of Interest Network (COIN). Because Microsoft Active Directory depends on reliable DNS and DHCP, Sussex faced frequent downtime and management complexity when many sites still ran legacy NT4 domain controllers, so they needed a resilient, centrally manageable core network platform.
Khipu Networks recommended Infoblox-1550 appliances to provide unified DNS, DHCP and IPAM with high availability and Active Directory integration; Sussex deployed eight appliances in three days with no service interruption. The new solution delivered greater availability, security and scalability, reduced administration overhead, improved visibility and control of DHCP clients, and enabled phased site migrations and future services such as IP telephony.
