Spring Independent School District - Customer Case Study

Spring Independent School District (Spring ISD), a fast-growing Texas district serving over 28,000 students across 25 schools and more than 10,000 networked devices, was struggling with internal DNS and DHCP reliability, scalability and security. Their legacy setup—single Windows NT DHCP servers and BIND-based DNS on general-purpose servers—created single points of failure, high administration overhead for a small IT staff, and security concerns.

Spring ISD deployed two Infoblox appliances running the DNSone package as a high-availability pair to deliver integrated DNS and DHCP. The purpose-built appliances simplified deployment and upgrades, reduced management effort, increased reliability and security, and restored consistent network access—so much so that the district is considering expanding the Infoblox deployment to support external services.
