ITSAM slashes DNS record updates from 20 minutes to instant with Infoblox

ITSAM, a public service association providing IT support to multiple municipalities in Sweden, faced significant challenges with its error-prone, mixed DDI environment. Using open-source solutions BIND and Power DNS led to misconfigurations, high administrative effort, and a lack of centralized management. To resolve these technical shortcomings and streamline operations, ITSAM turned to vendor Infoblox and its NIOS DDI product.

Infoblox implemented its NIOS DDI solution on Trinzic appliances, which provided centralized management and automation for all DDI processes. The results included a substantial reduction in time spent on DNS tasks, fewer support incidents, and improved overall network performance. While exact metrics were not recorded previously, ITSAM reported a very noticeable positive change, with tasks requiring fewer steps and being completed almost instantly.
