Global Consumer Health Products Company - Customer Case Study

A global consumer health company with hundreds of operating units and more than 120,000 employees faced a critical security challenge: FireEye detected 35,000–40,000 daily DNS requests to domains tied to malware and APTs, but alerts pointed to the company’s Infoblox DNS servers rather than the infected client devices, leaving network managers unable to identify or remediate compromised endpoints.

Infoblox deployed its Security Ecosystem—including DNS Firewall, the Threat Intelligence Feed, and appliances pushed via the Infoblox Grid (2210 appliances)—integrated with FireEye to add DNS-level blocking and device fingerprinting. The solution made it possible to pinpoint infected client IPs for quarantine and remediation, block outbound command-and-control traffic (redirecting it to analysis pages), and extend protection beyond APTs, significantly strengthening the company’s defenses.
