Géant Research Network operates 5 Trinzic appliances with Infoblox

Géant Research Network, a pan-European high-speed network connecting over 50 million users at academic and research institutions, faced the challenge of maintaining continuous connectivity and scalability for its massive infrastructure, which carries over seven petabytes of data daily. To manage its critical DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) operations, the customer relied on Infoblox and its NIOS DDI product to ensure 99.999% availability and support its global expansion.

The solution from Infoblox involved deploying and later upgrading to Trinzic 825 hardware appliances managed through a single Infoblox Grid interface. This provided a stable and automated DDI foundation. The results included maximized network resources through automated IPAM, the elimination of duplicate IP addresses, and significant time savings in management. Infoblox's solution also enabled new capabilities like splitting DNS operations and using APIs for automatic address allocation, solidifying its role as a critical and reliable partner for the network.
