A Infoblox Case Study
The City of Munich, a major German government municipality, faced significant IT challenges due to its highly fragmented infrastructure, which consisted of 16 independent DDI systems. This disjointed approach led to inefficiencies, manual errors, and slow response times. To support its centralization efforts, the city sought a unified solution and selected the Infoblox NIOS DDI platform to consolidate these services.
Infoblox implemented its NIOS DDI solution, centralizing the management of DNS, DHCP, and IP address services onto a single, automated platform. This resulted in the City of Munich reducing its systems from 16 to one, significantly cutting manual workloads and enabling the management of over 65,000 IP addresses. The Infoblox solution provided crucial stability and scalability, which proved essential during the COVID-19 pandemic when remote work caused a sudden surge in network demand.
