Baptist Healthcare System - Customer Case Study

Baptist Healthcare System, one of Kentucky’s largest not-for-profit health systems with five acute-care hospitals and hundreds of clinical and administrative users, relied on internal DNS, DHCP and IPAM to keep clinical systems running. When their Nortel NetID solution neared end of life, the IT team conducted a nine-month evaluation prioritizing stability, redundancy, usability, support and disaster recovery to find a reliable replacement.

Baptist deployed Infoblox appliances (two Infoblox-550 units per hospital and two Infoblox-1050 units in the main datacenter) connected and managed via Infoblox Grid for unified management. The rollout delivered nonstop DNS/DHCP availability, built-in IPAM, simpler one-button upgrades and stronger redundancy; the conversion completed smoothly in 2009 and eliminated prior downtime and security vulnerabilities, giving the IT team a stable, supported platform.
