A Infoblox Case Study
Arizona State University, the largest public research university in the U.S., was struggling with a decade-old Nortel NetID DNS/DHCP system that could not scale or provide reliable, delegated administration as the campus network and user demands grew. IT needed a high-availability, secure DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) solution to reduce manual processes and enable departmental self-service.
ASU deployed eight Infoblox appliances (2×550, 3×1050, 3×1550) with Infoblox Grid and NS1 to deliver secure DNS, automated DHCP and centralized management. The new setup streamlined and delegated domain provisioning, eliminated many manual tasks (saving hundreds of IT hours), handled peak traffic smoothly, and prepared the university to support future campus expansion.
