The Norwegian Welfare and Labour Administration - Customer Case Study

NAV, the Norwegian Welfare and Labour Administration, administers about a third of Norway’s state budget and employs roughly 19,000 people. Faced with the need to continuously monitor a large private-cloud DevOps estate—over 3,000 servers across development, test and production and more than 60 million datapoints per day—NAV needed a scalable metrics solution.

Since December 2014 NAV has run InfluxDB in production to collect time-series data, using Sensu to gather metrics and Grafana for visualization, and built a custom batch converter to migrate Graphite-format data into InfluxDB. This architecture reliably handles their scale and provides continuous monitoring and actionable dashboards across all environments.
