SmartCat - Customer Case Study

Cassandra Diagnostics by SmartCat is a monitoring and auditing extension for Apache Cassandra implemented as a Java agent. On one side it has connectors for different versions of Cassandra and on the other it has reporters to send measurements to different tools. One of reporters most commonly used is the InfluxDB reporter, which is a natural choice when it comes to storing time-series metrics. InfluxDB's tagging feature gave SmartCat an easy way of differentiating measurements and creating queries. Also key, was InfluxDB's integration with Riemann and good support in the Java community with a well documented driver.
