HomeScienceTools, an online retailer of educational science products, faced a bloated blog (hosted on a separate subdomain) with many low-performing pages that diluted its SEO. Inflow was engaged to run a strategic content audit (a blog/content pruning initiative) to identify underperforming posts and prove the value of removing dead-weight content.
Inflow recommended and helped prune roughly 200 blog pages (about 10% of the blog). After the August 2018 pruning, the site’s organic keyword footprint briefly dipped then rose sharply over the following 90 days, with sustained growth in clicks and impressions. Measurable impacts included a 104% increase in organic sessions, a 102% increase in transactions, and a 64% increase in strategic content revenue, demonstrating that Inflow’s pruning allowed higher-quality content to rank better.
