Case Study: RMIT University modernizes software testing education with Inflectra SpiraTeam

Educating the Next Generation of Software Testers and Engineers at RMIT University

RMIT University needed to replace its legacy IBM Rational Test Suite with a cloud-based tool that would be easier to use and administer for teaching software testing. The university worked with Inflectra Corporation and selected SpiraTeam as a cloud-based test management solution that could fit into its learning environment.

Inflectra Corporation implemented SpiraTeam for defect tracking, custom reporting, test management, and automated testing, and integrated it with JUnit, Selenium WebDriver, and JMeter. The platform now supports about 240 projects, around 240 named users, and 50–150 concurrent users, helping RMIT University manage the full software testing lifecycle and giving students a commercial-grade tool for hands-on learning.
