University of South Florida - Customer Case Study

The University of South Florida needed a more reliable, scalable video surveillance strategy to replace aging analog systems and eliminate the high cost and complexity of one-off DVR-based setups across its large Tampa campus. With more than 700 analog cameras and dozens of DVRs already in place, USF also wanted a solution that could support better image quality, integrate with access control, and fit into a campus-wide standard. Infinova provided the V2216 network video management platform and IP cameras to support the university’s migration to IP video.

Infinova worked with USF to survey the campus, assess risks, and place ruggedized IP66-rated cameras where they would deliver the best coverage and durability in Florida’s harsh weather conditions. The solution also leveraged existing fiber infrastructure and integrated with other security systems to create a more unified surveillance environment. As a result, USF reduced the need for costly dedicated DVRs, improved flexibility and image resolution, and established a phased migration path that protects its existing investment while moving toward a single open-platform system.
