Shenzhen Intelligent Transport System - Customer Case Study

Shenzhen Intelligent Transport System faced the challenge of turning a collection of long-running, analog surveillance systems across ports, bus stations, railway stations, wharfs, and the metro into a unified intelligent transportation system. To support this migration, the city worked with Infinova, using its cameras, matrix switchers, fiber optics, DVRs, and network video management/IP camera technologies.

Infinova implemented a hybrid analog-and-digital solution that added encoders, management servers, and streamed media transmission servers while preserving existing local surveillance functions. The new Infinova matrix-based setup connected departments over a dedicated government WAN, enabling the control center to view, switch, and control all site videos with prioritized management, eliminate blind spots, and avoid major re-cabling costs by reducing the need for additional fiber infrastructure.
