Infinova Provides Fiber Optics and Matrix Switching for Chile’s Private Jail System

The Chilean Ministry of Justice and Corrections needed a reliable surveillance system for ten low- and medium-security private jails managed by a private operator across the country. Infinova was selected to provide fiber optic video multiplexers and a 240-channel analog matrix switcher with IP output to support secure, high-quality video monitoring.

Infinova implemented a fiber-based video transmission solution that integrated with Southern Microwave’s perimeter control systems, allowing both the jail warden and administrator to view cameras and fences over the Internet. The result was improved security, long-distance transmission with minimal signal loss, and the ability to carry video, audio, and data over a single fiber connection while supporting scalable monitoring across the jail system.
