Guangzhou Expressway needed a reliable surveillance and transmission system for the Guangzhou West 2nd Ring Expressway, a long, decentralized highway environment with harsh outdoor conditions, limited fiber resources, and multiple signal types to transport. Infinova provided fiber optic transmission solutions, including node fiber optic modems and video encoder/decoders, to support the expressway’s intelligent transportation system.

Infinova implemented a centralized fiber ring network with RPR, along with distributed management at toll stations, to transmit video, audio, alarm, and data signals efficiently from edge sites to the monitoring center. The solution reduced engineering and fiber installation costs, extended transmission distance, enabled real-time remote monitoring and control, and unified the highway surveillance and toll booth CCTV systems into a single intelligent platform with no delay or distortion.
