Chongqing Metro needed a reliable surveillance solution for its new Metro Line 1, a 37 km route with 23 stations, where security and passenger monitoring were critical. The metro authority selected Infinova, leveraging the vendor’s experience in large-scale transit surveillance systems.

Infinova deployed 750 fixed cameras and 40 dome cameras across platforms, station entrances and exits, concourses, station centers, and train cars to provide full visibility of passenger flow and help prevent and detect crime. The system supports monitoring for threats such as theft, kidnapping, and terrorism, and the first phase of the line opened in July 2011 with the remaining phase scheduled for completion the following year.
