Case Study: Michael Foods achieves real-time operational intelligence and reduced waste with InfinityQS International's ProFicient

A InfinityQS International Case Study

Preview of the Michael Foods Case Study

Michael Foods takes the guesswork out of planning for the future with data-based decision-making

Michael Foods, a multinational producer and distributor of egg, potato and dairy products, faced inconsistent statistical process control across its 11 plants: manual data collection, QA-focused analysis tools, and overpacking/waste issues kept operators reliant on “tribal knowledge” rather than evidence-based decisions. To address this, Michael Foods partnered with InfinityQS and deployed its ProFicient real-time quality and Manufacturing Intelligence platform to improve SPC, automate data capture, and standardize quality checks.

InfinityQS implemented ProFicient with a central server and thin clients, integrated line scales/calipers and Dynamic Sampling Workflow checklists, and rolled the platform out to 75% of plants. The solution delivered real-time dashboards, alerts, and standardized settings that drove measurable gains — production lines now hold within tenths of a gram of target weight, the SPC project paid for itself through productivity improvements, reduced overpack and waste, faster startup stabilization, and progress toward a paperless, data-driven culture.
