Ben & Jerry’s, the Vermont-based ice cream maker, faced cumbersome paper-based quality control for its manufacturing KPIs, forcing operators and QA staff to perform manual readings and lengthy calculations. To modernize data collection and enforce SPC and Six Sigma best practices, Ben & Jerry’s selected InfinityQS ProFicient from vendor InfinityQS to automate shop-floor data capture and real-time monitoring across its production lines.

InfinityQS implemented ProFicient’s SPC engine, run charts and Manufacturing Intelligence to track weight, volume, air addition and inclusions, enabling real-time adjustments and comparisons with visual cut-ups. As a result, InfinityQS ProFicient helped Ben & Jerry’s tighten specification limits, reduce raw-material variation and generate cost savings (important for costly swirls), cut report creation from 8–10 hours to seconds, and eliminate much paper-based work while improving production efficiency.
