Building a Cloud Based SMS-Banking Solution

Major Nationalized Indian Bank, in partnership with a major Indian telecom operator, needed a reliable way to deliver SMS banking alerts and self-service features to customers across India. The bank wanted a high-availability SMS gateway that could integrate with its Core Banking Services (CBS) and operator SMS infrastructure, helping reduce branch visits while improving fraud notification and customer convenience. Infinite Computer Solutions provided the Enterprise Messaging Service (EMS) platform for this initiative.

Infinite Computer Solutions built a cloud-based SMS banking solution on its EMS platform, integrating the bank’s CBS via HTTP and the telecom operator’s SMSC via SMPP. The solution was rapidly deployed, with a POC completed in two weeks and UAT/FT in four weeks, and it went live two days ahead of schedule. The system now sends over 50,000 messages per day, is planned to scale to 100,000 messages daily, and has delivered 99.9% availability with a 100% delivery rate to the SMSC.
