Mainland High School faced a major data crisis after a 2013 power outage destroyed its data center and backups failed, leaving administrators unable to access grades and state reports. Pearson’s recovery efforts were slow and ineffective, forcing the school to pay thousands for partial data recovery and rekindling long-standing frustrations with PowerSchool’s cumbersome reporting and infrequent, disruptive updates. Seeking a reliable SIS, Mainland turned to Infinite Campus.
Infinite Campus, deployed quickly through Channel Partner Custom Computer Specialists (contract in May, live in July), provided a user-friendly SIS with built-in logic, monthly enhancements, and LMS functionality that immediately simplified reporting. The district reports that New Jersey state extracts now work for the first time, routine reporting is faster and more accurate, and day-to-day access to grades and administrative data for its ~1,400 students has been greatly improved thanks to Infinite Campus.
