A Infinite Campus Case Study
College Community School District (Cedar Rapids, Iowa; ~4,000 students) selected Infinite Campus in 2001 as its new student information system (SIS) to solve a decentralized data problem. With each building keeping separate records, the district struggled to aggregate consistent, up-to-date data for decision-making and could not reliably compare student performance across the district.
Infinite Campus implemented an integrated SIS and Campus Portal used district-wide (including a mandatory teacher gradebook and display of assessments like NWEA and diagnostics), which centralized student records and supported data-driven instruction and restructured professional development. The district reports saved administrative overhead in reporting over 100 unique data elements multiple times per year, steady increases in Iowa Test of Basic Skills scores over the past decade and notable gains between 2002–2008, and improved teacher collaboration and individualized instruction—all attributed to Infinite Campus.
