MIC Business Solutions (MIBS), a Mitsubishi Corporation (Americas) subsidiary that manages SAP, Oracle and other systems for financial trading firms across the Americas, was struggling with I/O bottlenecks in its VMware environment. Peaks in end-of-day reporting and mixed read/write workloads on aging Dell EqualLogic arrays caused intermittent latency and delayed reports for up to 200 users, creating support overhead and limiting future project capacity.

MIBS deployed the software-only Infinio Accelerator as a non-disruptive server-side cache, first in a 30-day trial and then in production across four hosts and two datastores. The solution offloaded up to 99% of SharePoint I/O, cut storage latency from ~20 ms to ~5 ms, eliminated the need to buy additional hybrid arrays, reduced I/O spikes and support cases, and delivered a more consistent user experience for Oracle, SQL and SharePoint workloads.
