Norfolk, VA scales and simplifies data storage infrastructure to accomplish more with less

The City of Norfolk needed to replace its legacy storage infrastructure to support mission-critical services for about 4,500 employees while meeting growing capacity, performance, and budget constraints. After evaluating options, the city selected Infinidat and its InfiniBox storage platform, including a Capacity on Demand model, to simplify administration and provide predictable storage growth.

Infinidat implemented InfiniBox with 333TB of usable storage and helped Norfolk migrate approximately 17 physical servers and 80TB of data from the old environment within a month. The new platform delivered enterprise-class performance, availability, and security, while Infinidat’s proactive monitoring and support reduced day-to-day storage burden and gave the IT team more time for strategic work.
