Contship Italia Upgrades its Mission Critical Enterprise Storage for VMware with Infinidat

Contship Italia Group, the Italian leader in container terminal logistics and intermodal solutions, needed to replace its aging enterprise storage platform as it was reaching end of life and no longer met performance, capacity, and availability needs. The company wanted a simpler, more autonomous infrastructure that could support growth, protect mission-critical VMware workloads, and deliver zero-RPO/RTO without disrupting customer-facing services. Infinidat’s InfiniBox storage platform was selected to meet these goals.

Infinidat implemented two InfiniBox arrays in separate locations with active-active synchronous replication and VMware vMSC integration, creating a highly available, easy-to-manage environment with lower latency and higher performance. The migration was completed in less than 20 days with no downtime, and Contship Italia reported more than 40% cost savings on implementation, the freeing up of one full-time employee, and the ability to retain up to 60 days of camera footage while keeping 100% application and data availability.
