Chalmers achieves improved data security with Infinidat

Chalmers University of Technology, a research and education institution in Sweden, needed to modernize its storage infrastructure to handle petabyte-scale growth, improve data security, boost performance, and make administration easier. The university chose Infinidat for its storage solution, seeking a highly available system that could future-proof its expanding data needs.

Infinidat implemented a SAN-based storage environment with two parallel petabyte-scale systems and a third approximately 700TB system for backups, supporting VMware servers, file servers, and other workloads. The result was faster performance, with jobs that once took several hours now completing in 30 minutes, plus very fast drive rebuilds in about 10 minutes and strong resilience even when multiple disks fail.
