Fivestars Revolutionizes Local Retail Loyalty Programs by Integrating Payments

Fivestars, a San Francisco–based platform that provides local retailers with CRM, marketing automation and a loyalty engine, faced a fragmented checkout and enrollment experience that depressed merchant sign-up rates. To unify checkout and loyalty and capture more value for its small‑business customers, Fivestars partnered with Infinicept to build payments capability and become a payment facilitator.

Infinicept delivered an end‑to‑end payments platform and Launch Services—covering underwriting, merchant management, prebuilt integrations, operational policies and staff training—enabling Fivestars to launch Fivestars Pay, an integrated POS tied to its loyalty system. With Infinicept’s solution Fivestars went live with only one incremental hire; today over 1,000 merchants use the payment platform, merchants with the integrated product see loyalty participation more than double versus the non‑integrated product, and the company has unlocked new revenue streams while simplifying payments for merchants.
