Telia Carrier, a global connectivity and cloud connect provider, needed to increase network capacity, improve optical performance, and lower transport costs as demand for bandwidth kept rising and competition intensified. Infinera addressed these challenges with its ICE4-powered XT and XTC Series platforms, part of the DTN-X family, along with Instant Bandwidth and FlexILS to help Telia Carrier maximize fiber utilization and prepare for higher-baud-rate services.

With Infinera’s solution, Telia Carrier gained an open, future-proof network that supports next-generation services while simplifying operations and reducing costs. The upgrade delivered an additional 33 percent of capacity, reduced the number of regenerators to lower operating expenses, and enabled faster, automated service activation from weeks to minutes, improving time to revenue and eliminating many truck rolls and on-site provisioning visits.
