JPIX Deploys Infinera Cloud Xpress for Data Center Interconnect

JPIX, Japan’s first commercial internet exchange provider, needed a scalable, high-density optical transport solution to handle exponential traffic growth on its IX network without service interruption. The company also wanted simple deployment and operation, strong power efficiency, and a compact design that could fit constrained data center environments, so it selected Infinera Cloud Xpress.

Infinera implemented Cloud Xpress to deliver 500 Gb/s per 2RU, support 10 GbE, 40 GbE, and 100 GbE interfaces, and enable easy 100 Gb/s bandwidth increments with simple provisioning. As a result, JPIX dramatically increased available capacity, quickly responded to traffic surges, and scaled efficiently while limiting space and power costs, with deployments completed in about half the usual time.
