AJC Restores Subsea Optical Network Services with Infinera Time-based Instant Bandwidth

Australia Japan Cable (AJC), a private subsea optical fiber cable operator connecting Australia, Guam, and Japan, experienced a network outage on its Japan-to-Guam route and needed to restore customer services quickly while deep-sea repairs were underway. AJC turned to Infinera and its DTN-X platform with Time-based Instant Bandwidth to recover capacity on the affected network.

Infinera enabled AJC to activate more than 400G of pre-deployed bandwidth and reroute traffic across alternate paths, restoring services in less than eight hours instead of facing a disruption that could have lasted days or weeks. Using Infinera’s DNA management software and time-based bandwidth features, AJC also temporarily redirected traffic from another vendor’s network onto the Infinera network, minimizing customer impact and restoring service continuity quickly.
