TGI Fridays worked with Infillion to improve mobile ordering and encourage more dine-in visits as part of a broader effort to stay top of mind with customers. The challenge was to create mobile experiences that would stand out in a crowded dining market and drive more relevant engagement through their app.
Infillion used Gimbal’s Location Platform and Location SDK to set up geofences around TGI Fridays restaurants and other high-traffic locations like airports, malls, and NFL playoff regions, then triggered push notifications through the Gimbal and Airship integration. The campaign drove a 67% lift in app open rates versus generic push, including an 80% lift for football region geofences and a 100% lift for a Happy Hour location geofence, along with increased return visits and an overall app open rate lift of 66.75%.
