Spotter needed a way to automate student attendance tracking based on where students were on campus. To address this challenge, Spotter worked with Infillion, using the Gimbal SDK and beacon-based location technology to identify students by classroom rather than relying on GPS.

Infillion implemented beacons around campus “class zones” and sent real-time entry and exit notifications to the Spotter platform, enabling faculty to monitor tardies, early exits, and absences. The solution improved accountability, supported higher retention and staff productivity, and reduced privacy concerns by only detecting students when they were within range of a beacon.
