Case Study: Institute of Mother and Child improves patient triage and self-care with Infermedica

IMC fuels self-care recommendations with Infermedica

The Institute of Mother and Child (IMC), a public healthcare provider in Warsaw, Poland, needed a digital way to support patients earlier and reduce unnecessary visits while easing the workload on physicians, nurses, and reception staff. To address this challenge, IMC partnered with Infermedica and implemented Infermedica Triage, along with pediatrics content, an intent survey, and patient education tools.

Infermedica integrated its symptom checker into IMC’s website, giving patients a guided way to assess symptoms, understand care options, and download results or book a visit. The results were strong: over 1.6k interviews were completed in the first months, more than 60% of users said they would follow the recommendation, 55% followed a self-care recommendation, and 25% switched from urgent care to primary care, helping reduce pressure on urgent services.
